Vision Statement

We are a team of devoted parents who have children with severe developmental disabilities and are seeking to form an alliance within the community and non-profit sectors. Our goal is to create therapeutic critical infrastructure for housing complex needs adults who require 24 hour supports and ensuring that they live inclusive and fulfilled lifestyles.

Kristina Koivisto

Kristina Koivisto is a licensed red seal hairstylist who resides in Calgary, Alberta with two of her three sons. She has been a single mom for 15 years raising her three boys all impacted by various disabilities. Kristina learned through this experience that her education was secondary to acquiring the appropriate and adequate services to raise children with disabilities. Her eldest son Mason, who is severely impacted by autism, began her journey to becoming a provincially known advocate for all families impacted within Alberta.
As she began learning to navigate a system that was not designed for individuals with disabilities she created and implemented her own structured system for Mason to have his best quality of life while pursuing her passion in the art of hair design. Her success in her trade was made possible by her relentless perseverance to never give up on her dreams.
When Mason entered adulthood she became very aware of an unmet need within the disability community and founded “Teammason2021 Foundation.” Kristina envisions a community that comes together unanimously to unite as one and create a supportive, caring and inclusive lifestyle for the most vulnerable citizens.

Ebony Fauk

Ebony Fauk is a dedicated community support worker based in Camrose, Alberta. She graduated from Camrose Composite High School in 2021.

Ebony has spent the last several years deeply involved in her community through her work with the Camrose Association for Community Living (CAFCL). Ebony has been working for Unique Family Connections' kids camp and respite programs since her graduation.

Having grown up with foster siblings, Ebony gained early hands-on experience supporting individuals with a variety of disabilities, particularly FASD and autism. Her upbringing played a huge role in shaping her passion for helping others and laid the foundation for the meaningful work that she does.

Ebony’s long-term goal is to become a social worker, where she hopes to bring fresh perspectives and advocate for change within the system. She also dreams of one day running her own camp on a farm — a place that is focused on teaching life skills, fostering independence, and providing a safe, supportive space for growth and connection.

She brings both heart and professionalism to her work, backed by a range of certifications including Positive Behavior Supports Level 2, Medication Administration, Level 2 First Aid & CPR, Mandt Training Level 3, Abuse Reporting & Ethics of Touch and Professional Boundaries.
